Rights and responsibilities

This one should have been no brainer.....

A new federal law is requiring most states to assemble lists of their voters. A seemingly simple law, it assumedly will prevent fraudulent voting by people, pets, and elvis alike. It also has the potential to speed up the identification of voters. So why would anyone oppose it?

Because no one sends out reminders......

I get a voters registration card on a fairly regular basis for various reasons, so I know what party I'm registered for. And I know I'm registered. Which brings me to my point. If you want to vote, no one can stop you but yourself. Take responsibility  for yourself and get yourself registered. Know what party you last registered with. Remember to keep it updated when you move. And don't expect anyone else to do it for you. There are too many of us for them to track. If you don't register properly, don't expect to vote. If you don't know if you're registered, call your state or county officials, they'll point you to the right person and get you your current voter status.
